Beach Bunny Sold Out LA Stop on their 2025 'Tunnel Vision' Tour

On May 30th, Beach Bunny performed to a sold out crowd at The Wiltern on their 'Tunnel Vision' Tour–a run supporting their 3rd studio album under the same name. Their album Tunnel Vision contains the same earnest, bleeding-heart lyricism and bubbly-rock sound that the band’s known for. Their relatability has made Beach Bunny internet darlings, gaining them multiple viral hits like "Prom Queen" and "Cloud 9." The group, made up of vocalist Lili Trifilio, guitarist Anthony Vaccaro, and Drummer Jon Alvorado, has grown a dedicated fanbase who's eager to show up and show off their bunny ears, prom sashes, and pastels.

Scarlet Demore opened with a turbo-charged set, a fellow Chicago-based rock act made up of vocalist Cat Ayala, guitarists Alex Gonzalez and Joel Smith, bassist G Passaro and Jeremia Elam on drums. The group has a higher octane sound that compliments the headliner’s grungier vocal tone and post-rock orchestration. They summoned a circle pit at the start of their set that boosted the energy in the room for the rest of the night. Personally, my heart was clawing its way out of my chest the whole time. They incorporate a wall of sound with songs like "Dead Men," that make you feel like you’re being pushed over by a wave underwater. Ayala’s vocals are commanding and varied, flipping between guttural cries and soft coo's. The highlight of their set was "Ticket to Heaven," their newest release.

Beach Bunny opened with "Cloud 9," a fan favorite, and revealed an intricate set design that featured the same illustrated bedroom from the Tunnel Vision album cover. Everyone in the room was just as hyped for the band's first appearance at The Wiltern, which was made clear by the crowd shouting “everything’s better in California” during "Ms. California." The crowd kept the energy up through the show, with equal fervor for recent releases as well as past favorites like "Weeds." The track demonstrates Beach Bunny’s ability to balance cutting personal observation with an infectious groove; you can’t help but sway or bop your head a bit while being attacked by the song's message. The surprise for the night was the band bringing out Blond In Car for a stripped down version of "6 Weeks" during the encore. They integrated Blond In Car’s signature omnichord to create a nostalgic and dreamy rendition of the song to a sea of phone lights from the crowd.

The show sped by in the blink of an eye, and before I knew it, Beach Bunny was summoning a circle pit for their final song, "Painkiller." The fan favorite made for a perfect note to end the show on. It's high energy and righteous anger allowed the crowd to get out the last of their zoomies before collecting their bunny ears off the ground, and shuffling out to the merch stand.
