Bec Lauder and The Noise Kick Off Their Debut Album with Single "Give It"

The New York City-based group, comprised of Maggie Bishop (drums/vocals), Soph Shreds (guitar/bass), and Bec Lauder (vocals/guitar/bass), announced the release of their debut LP, The Vessel, which is due to be released August 22nd via Killphonic.

Before the release of "Give It," the group had released a few singles and an EP, often collaborating with artist Two Feet, who is also based in NYC. That EP–Before Everything Changes–reflected the group's evolving sound and progression into the music industry. The Vessel, however, sets out to be a brand new chapter for the group. Lauder promises that this album will be sexy, psychedelic, and cinematic. It's a love letter to young people seeking an escape from their everyday lives and the world around them.

"Give It" is an entrancing, almost psychedelic track. Lauder's seductive vocals pair perfectly with grunge-style instrumentals to create a sultry pop-funk track that begs to be played on repeat. There is an electric sound to the track that drives the rest of the melodies, and then balances out with Lauder's signature grit. If you're looking for a song to strut to, Bec Lauder and The Noise are sure to provide.

The track was released with a music video featuring the Brooklyn Nets Dancers taking the streets of NYC, outfitted in early 2000s classics, a slight nod to the current indie-sleaze revival. The video almost feels like a time capsule of that era, while the song mixes aspects of '80s funk, '90s grunge, and '70s classic-rock. Lauder hopes to capture the evolution of sound in The Vessel and take it to a whole other level.
