Broken; Narrative Release Debut Single "The Prologue"

"Seek the truth. Dare to dream. Survive the change." This is the motto that Broken; Narrative have set for themselves. Hailing from Sheffield in Northern England, this emo-nu-rock band puts their primary focus on storytelling; they emphasize that the stories that make us are ever evolving.

Broken; Narrative consists of Joel Arthur as "the narrator" on vocals, Adam Nettleship on bass, Jake Stephenson on drums, and Tom Pearce on lead guitar. Their first released single, "The Prologue," stems from their upcoming EP The Change. From the very beginning of the track, they grab attention with the lyrics "brushing off the cobwebs," and immediately hit us with explosive guitars and a beat that is bound to excite fans and keep them wanting more. The energy remains high throughout; the tracks undeniably attractive sound is supplemented with lyrics that discuss the importance of dreaming, thinking outside the box, and challenging social norms.

Along with the release of the debut single, Broken; Narrative also released a short film video log, in which we are introduced to "Project Chronicle"–a study project where people who dream meet "The Narrator" in order to decipher the symbols they see in their dreams at night. This story is something I'm very excited to see the band explore and investigate moving forward.

"The Prologue" is available on all streaming services. Keep up with Broken; Narrative and their future releases here.
