Daisy Grenade's 'So Much To Say' Tour Sells Out The Roxy

Daisy Grenade brought the ‘So Much to Say” tour to a sold out Roxy crowd on June 4th. This is their first headlining tour after supporting a slew of incredible acts such as Honey Revenge, Pierce The Veil, and Fall Out Boy. They embarked on tour after dropping their EP So Much To Say along with 5 impressively produced music videos for each track. The Alt-pop duo, consisting of Dani Nigro and Keaton Whittaker, have gained a dedicated fanbase through their relatable and cutting lyrics, explosive energy, and their sensational covers of Sabrina Carpenter’s "Taste" and "For Good" from the Wicked soundtrack.

This tour also brought along Vienna Vienna, a self-described Glimmer rock artist who released their first EP, Entertain Me earlier this year. They opened the show with one of my personal favorites from their catalogue, "Monarch," a high energy anthem that’s perfect to set the tone for the night. Vienna Vienna’s indie-infused sound is a perfect accompaniment for Daisy Grenade. Much like Daisy Grenade, each Vienna Vienna track is impossible to stand still to; from fan-favorite "Everything’s Fine" to their newer additions, like "Make A Man Out Of You" (which is featured in the tv show Off-Campus). The blend of groovy bass-lines and punchy guitars has a nostalgic flair to it that’s thoroughly enjoyable–they’re a must-see act, for sure.

After the crowd was thoroughly warmed up, Daisy Grenade came on with "A Beautiful Woman is A Weapon, I Guess That’s Why They Call Her A Bombshell" from their So Much To Say EP. Each time I see them, they are extremely in tune with the crowd, and this time was no different. This tour was action packed, with multiple rituals each night; like bringing a guest on stage to serenade for the track "Emily," and a VIP song pick in the middle of the setlist. This show’s surprise ‘Emily’ was Meredith Hurley from The Millionaires, who will be embarking on their own tour later this year. They performed their "Hella Good" cover, and to top everything off, The Ready Set came out as a special guest for their collaboration track "Already Dead."

Something to take away from Daisy Grenade is that they want you to have as much fun as they are having. From the duo doing splits on stage, to Keaton jumping off their drum set (I am so happy that I got a photo of this), you don’t see this kind of bubbly stage presence with a lot of acts, especially on the alternative side of things. There are plenty of bands that I’ve covered that barely move an inch on stage while Daisy Grenade is skipping laps around each other. They are so fun to watch, and they’ve put a lot of thought into creating a live experience for everyone to enjoy. I’m excited to see what they are able to do on their next tour.

Keep up with Daisy Grenade here, and Vienna Vienna here.
